Grants available to cover the hire of the Mobiloo

Gail Rodway at The Barnwood Trust is keen to receive applications for funding from hirers seeking to subsidise the cost of booking the Mobiloo in  Gloucestershire.

We are really grateful for this potential support, which will greatly help in our determination to make the Mobiloo affordable for local families and not for profit organisations working with disabled people.

Just give us a call and we can help you make the link to the Trust.

Bookings and enquiries rolling in!

We are shortly doing a major circulation of information about the availability of the Mobiloo, so look out for that! But even before that goes out we are getting enquiries from all over the county and beyond. In December the Mobiloo went to the National Star College Christmas Ball and to a family hosting an elderly relative over Christmas itself.

Here are some of the places it’s already headed for in 2015:

·         Active Impact’s Big Gathering on 28th February

·         The Big Health Check Open Day at the Wall’s Club in Gloucester on 13th May

·         The Kidz in the South Exhibition in Reading on 4th June

·         Carers Gloucestershire’s Walk a Mile event in Cheltenham on 7th June

·         Festival of Inclusive Cycling and Athletics in Gloucester on 22nd August

There are lots of discussions going on with other potential hirers and we are getting interest from across the UK. So don’t delay – talk to us today! Mostly the Mobiloo will be staying more local to Gloucestershire but it’s always worth talking to us about possible bookings further afield – or even if you fancy a Mobiloo of your own one day!

If you are thinking of booking the Mobiloo and wanted to find out a bit more first, then you can watch our fantastic new film to give you a guided tour and more information about what it offers.

The Official Mobiloo Launch

Over thirty Mobiloo supporters, funders and equipment suppliers joined us at the Star Bistro for the official Mobiloo launch. With BBC Radio Gloucestershire interviewing several of us and local press taking photos it was a great day for celebration and promotion.Parent carer Sharron Ashley-Hill described how the Mobiloo will make it possible to go out for the whole day with her whole family – something that they have never been able to do in over 20 years. And Nathan Mattick, President of the National Star College Students Union, spoke of how the Mobiloo could transform disabled people’s social lives.Sharron and Nathan joined Mobiloo developers Joy Goudswaard and Philip Douch in the ceremonial cutting of a toilet roll to declare the Mobiloo ready for hire! And Abby Goulding and her team at the bistro did a fabulous job of providing gorgeous food and drink to welcome all the guests.

Mobiloo at ToysRus

Toys R Us stores across the country are opening early on Sunday 30th November, so families with disabled children can do their Christmas shopping in relative peace! Lights will be dimmed and tannoy announcements quietened, with two hours to browse without the usual crowds in the shops. You can gather your purchases at your own pace between 9.00 and 11.00am and then pay for them at the official 11.00am opening time. At the Peel Centre Toys R Us store in Gloucester we’ll also have the Mobiloo parked outside so that families have the toilet facilities they need – and so that everyone can see at first hand what great facilities the Mobiloo offers.

First public try-outs for Mobiloo!

Well, it’s here in Gloucestershire at last, and we’re really pleased to have started taking the Mobiloo out to various events around the county.

‘It’s a Godsend’ and ‘Bloody marvellous’ are two of the first responses from disabled people seeing it at first hand.

The Mobiloo has been to Paws in the Park in Cheltenham; the Allsorts Family Fun Day in Stroud, and Tetbury Car Show. This Sunday it’ll be at Speech House near Coleford for the Food Festival between 10am and 4pm. Do get along and use it or see it if you can!

We are testing things out at these current events, trying to make sure we have got everything sorted before beginning formal hires. Shortly we will be finalising booking procedures and hire charges, ready for an official launch in November. Meanwhile do get in touch with Jane on 01453 298337 or mobilooglos@gmail.com if you want to know more.

Markup: Text Alignment

This is a paragraph. It should not have any alignment of any kind. It should just flow like you would normally expect. Nothing fancy. Just straight up text, free flowing, with love. Completely neutral and not picking a side or sitting on the fence. It just is. It just freaking is. It likes where it is. It does not feel compelled to pick a side. Leave him be. It will just be better that way. Trust me.
